New releases from Earth Mantra, Webbed Hand Records, Senile Dementia Productions and Kopp netlabels. A mostly russian flavored show. What can I say... so much good dark ambient music is from Russia. I downloaded [again...] the entire catalog from Senile Dementia Productions. And I have to say... this was not fun. It was track by track one at at time. I don't understand why they don't make their music available at archive.org. But I was pleased to see they are now sharing the music clearly with... Topics: sadayatana, ambient, dark ambient, podcast
Playing a lot of smaller tracks makes for a longer time editing the resulting playlist, makes for a later night getting the podcast ready before bed. Remind of this next week as I'm doing my show... I'm thinking of using this Flores Funebres track "Depressive Personality Disorder" as kind of a theme song. I suppose I should email and ask the artist if it's ok. Nice short evocative track. Very cinematic. This week I'm struck again by the quality of releases on the ambientaria netlabel.... Topics: sadayatana, ambient, dark ambient, podcast
Got to play some tracks from new releases from Webbed Hand Records. Melophobia's "Fukushima (11_04M)" and No-xygen's U-235. It was some heavy stuff. My heart goes out to the people of Japan. Couple cool tracks from the new Mayfairgrin release "This Delicate Confusion" on Webbed Hand Records. The rest of it is like a wacky electronica thing (wacky good!) New releases from the Dark Winter, Webbed Hand and Earth Mantra netlabels. Kirill Platonkin, ZMG, and Rigel Orionis are the respective artists. Played the entire Deprivation Chamber release from bfwrecordings netlabel, albeit mixed in with the rest of the show. Really nice dark release. Also a couple tracks from the new release from Elias Moreno. I took the liberty of mixing (briefly) some H.P. Lovecraft over the top of one track. This is an impromptu show from this past Wednesday night. It was more of an experimental, just for fun testing type deal, not really meant to be podcast. But then disaster struck --my computer died. If you were listening Friday at the regularly scheduled time for Sadayatana you may have noticed it was a repeat of a previous show. Well now you know why. It's that time of year again... you know --turkey time. Except when you're a vegetarian you have to settle for tofu-turkey. If you can get it. Otherwise it's more like a biscuit, some mashed potatoes and cranberry something. It can suck being vegetarian, but never worse than on thanksgiving.
